The Art of Arancini was founded by Chef Andrea Cesca and his wife Cindy. After moving to the States in 2009 from his native Italy where he developed his culinary roots, Andrea began a cooking career in San Francisco. He got his start at the popular Vega Restaurant in Bernal Heights then moved on Michael Tusk’s Cotogna in the Financial District where his passion for rustic Italian food continued to develop and he began to hone his own distinct style of cooking. In combining organic, locally sourced ingredients whenever possible along with his family’s long-held recipes, Art of Arincini became that unique creative voice that blends tradition with modern California sensibilities.
Arancini are essentially Italian street food. While in most U.S. restaurants arancini are served on a fancy plate as appetizers, Andrea’s intent was to bring arancini back to the people, back to the streets, without the pretense, but packed with rich, intense flavor.
